01 — THE COLLECTION

A wine rack looks like a simple object and fails like a structural one. Bottle loads are eccentric, glass is brittle, and a wall-mounted wine rack fixed into a lightweight partition will sag before the collection is full. We engineer custom wine rack systems, wine rack cabinet modules and wine glass rack assemblies in Foshan — stainless, timber and hybrid — with fixings and spans calculated rather than estimated.

Rack types and where each belongs

H3: Wall-mounted wine rack — the most specified and the most often under-engineered. A wall-mounted wine rack needs a substrate that can take the load; we ask what the wall is made of before we detail the bracket.

H3: Hanging wine rack — a hanging wine rack or suspended rack uses the ceiling or a soffit. A metal suspended rack is the cleanest way to keep the floor clear in a small dining room, and the most dependent on correct anchorage.

H3: Ceiling and bar racks — a suspended bar ceiling rack for hanging wine glasses puts stemware above the counter, where it is reached rather than admired. A luxury illuminated stainless steel wine glass rack adds light to the same assembly; the electrical route has to be designed with the suspension, not after it.

H3: Cabinet and shelving modules — a wine rack cabinet combines racking with closed storage; a shelving cabinet, metal shelving cabinet or stainless steel shelving cabinet is the open version for a cellar or retail wall. A drill-free, no-install cabinet rack for stemware suits rented apartments and temporary fit-outs.

H3: Grid and creative racks — a grid wine rack maximises bottles per square metre and hides the labels; a creative wine rack does the opposite. A creative solid wood tabletop wine glass holder is the small-format answer for a dining table. A bar wine rack sits below or behind a counter and is usually the most heavily loaded unit in the room, because it is filled with whatever the service needs rather than with what the client collects.

Materials: stainless, solid wood, and the eco question

A stainless steel wine rack is the specification for cellars with humidity control, commercial rooms and coastal sites. A solid wood wine rack is warmer and needs a stable environment; timber racks in a dry room open at the joints. An eco-friendly wine rack usually means a low-VOC finish and a sourced timber — worth asking for specifically, because the phrase alone does not define either.

A metal wine rack and a red wine rack are the two most common requests we receive; both describe a look rather than a specification, which is why we ask for the loading and the fixing before discussing finish.

Glass storage is a separate discipline

A wine glass rack carries stemware, and stemware breaks. A stemware rack must support the base, not the bowl; an inverted wine glass rack uses the foot, which is stronger than it looks but only if the rail spacing matches the foot diameter. A suspended wine glass rack, wall-mounted wine glass rack, hanging wine glass rack or tiered wine glass rack all solve the same problem in different orientations, and each has a maximum load per rail that should be stated.

A red wine glass rack, decorative wine glass rack, custom wine glass rack and high-end wine glass rack are finish-level variations on those structural decisions.

Illumination and finish

An illuminated wine rack turns a storage wall into a display wall. Two rules: the light source must not heat the bottle, and the driver must be serviceable without dismantling the rack. We specify LED at low voltage with a remote driver, and we detail access.

Frequently asked questions

How much weight does a wall-mounted rack carry?

It depends on the substrate and the fixing, not on the rack alone. A full Bordeaux bottle is roughly 1.2–1.3 kg; a 60-bottle rack is therefore about 75 kg plus the frame. We design the fixing for the loaded case and ask what the wall is.

Can a rack be fitted to plasterboard?

Only with a designed backing or a floor-to-ceiling frame that transfers load. A rack fixed into plasterboard alone is a liability.

Do you supply the lighting?

Yes, low-voltage LED with a serviceable driver, or a specification for your electrician where local code requires it.

Is stainless necessary in a wine cellar?

At controlled humidity it is a preference; in a humid room or a commercial space it is the durable choice. Powder-coated steel is not equivalent in a wet environment.

How is a custom rack priced?

By configuration, material and finish, after a drawing. We do not quote from a photograph.

What is the lead time?

Approximately one month after drawing approval; larger runs are scheduled at drawing review.
