01 — THE COLLECTION

A custom bar counter is a working surface before it is a design statement. The bartender needs a reach radius, a wash point, a waste route and a place to put a glass down without looking. The client needs a bar table that reads as architecture from the dining room. We build custom bar counter stations, home bar counter units and commercial bar counter runs in Foshan, from a compact home bar counter serving as a living room-kitchen partition to a hotel reception desk in stone and stainless steel.

The three working heights, and why they are not negotiable

Bar work happens at three levels: 750 mm for seated dining, 900–950 mm for standing service, and 1050–1100 mm for a pub bar counter where guests lean. A bar counter drawn at one height for both sides of the counter is a compromise that the staff will feel every shift.

Counter types we engineer

H3: Home bar — a home bar is usually a wine bar corner, a bar cabinet run, or a home bar furniture composition that has to disappear when not in use. A villa bar counter can be generous; a compact home bar counter serving as a living room-kitchen partition has to earn its footprint by dividing two zones as well as serving drinks.

H3: Commercial bar counter — a commercial bar counter carries ice, glassware, a wash point and a service route. A stainless steel bar counter is the specification for hygiene and durability; a metal bar counter with a stone top is the common hybrid. Where the room turns over quickly, a multifunctional bar counter that combines service, storage and a cashier counter position reduces staff walking distance more than any finish upgrade.

H3: Reception and front-of-house — a reception bar counter or custom commercial reception/service counter for bubble tea shops and cafes is a different problem: queue management, transaction surface, and a back wall that has to carry a menu. A hotel reception desk adds luggage clearance and a lower accessible section.

H3: Feature counters — a luxury illuminated bar counter with LED lighting or an illuminated bar counter used as the room's focal point; a winery bar counter for tasting flights; a villa bar counter for entertaining. A red wine bar counter in a dining room usually doubles as a sideboard, which changes the depth and the storage below.

Materials and the top surface

A marble bar counter or a solid wood bar counter sets the room's temperature — literally, in the case of stone. A Nordic-style high bar table with sintered stone or marble finish is a specification we build often: slim metal frame, thin stone top, minimal visual weight. A solid wood bar counter needs a stable humidity environment; timber tops in a wet bar area must be detailed with a drainage path, not just a seal.

A modern minimalist wall-mounted linear bar table is the opposite approach: fixed to the wall, no legs, maximum floor clearance. It works in narrow apartments and fails in rooms with lightweight partitions, which is a structural question rather than a design one.

The bar cabinet and the wine bar cabinet

A bar cabinet is often the better answer than a counter in a residence: closed storage, integrated cooling, and a top that doubles as a serving surface. A wine bar cabinet combines bottle storage with glass storage and a mixing surface — the functional core of a wine bar at home.

High-end and standard, stated plainly

High-end custom bar counter, high-end bar counter and luxury bar counter are market phrases. In our drawings they mean a formed stainless frame, a stone or timber top with a machined edge, integrated cable and drainage routes, and a serviceable refrigerated section if one is specified. Bar table and bar counter are not synonyms: a table is furniture, a counter is a workstation.

Frequently asked questions

Can you build from a designer's drawing?

Yes. We need the plan, the section, the top material and the service requirement. If the drawing has no drainage or power route, we will list what is missing rather than guess.

What is the difference between a bar counter and a bar table?

A counter is a workstation with storage, services and a staff side; a table is a surface. The distinction changes the structure, not just the height.

Can a home bar counter include refrigeration?

Yes, where ventilation and service access are designed in. A sealed cabinet with a compressor and no air path will fail early.

How is the stone top supported?

With a steel subframe designed for the span. A stone top over an unsupported span cracks at the weakest point, usually within the first year.

What is the lead time?

Approximately one month after drawing approval. Stone procurement can extend that; we confirm at drawing review rather than after the deposit.

Do you ship flat-packed or assembled?

Assembled where transport allows. Modular sections are used for large runs, with a site assembly drawing supplied.
